About a month ago I posted a Walnut lidded box I made, at the time I had the idea of making a set of 3 all slightly different from one another, but the wood for the other 2 was just to wet still to work with. eventualy it got dry enough for me to turn and here are the results, in the picture with all 3 of them the one in the middle is the original I posted a month and a half ago. They are all roughly "7 tall overall and average width is about "3 1/2, many coats of WOP on all of them, sanded to 600.

Here is the original post from a while ago...

Boy Tim,

These are really nice! Very nice turnings......I like all 3 forms, but the one on the right is my favorite....a bit like a big apple! Just super nice..........one can really see your maturity developing as a turner.........keep 'em coming!

Very nice Tim! Ditto Rogers thought about the one on the right reminding me of an apple.

Tim, you are really getting the hang of this turning thing!! Excellent work! If you do another of the Keith Burns exclamation finials, you might try a very smooth and long curve to the top. That is the absolute only thing I can see on these that might be improved - great job!

Very well done Tim! Maybe it's just me, but I'm transported back to the '70's when I see these...except for the clothing...it's not a bad thing.

Lovely trio, Tim. I particularly like the one on the left as a stand alone, but the grouping is top notch.

Really well done. Like the stems. Maple contrast gives good contrast and interest.

Nice work, Tim. They make a great set of covered vessels. Tha apple is my favorite also. If it were shiny red I would want to take a bite of it.

Very nice work and nice stems. I also like the left one the best. I think the rim thickness you chose for the left one works a little bit better than the middle one. With that nice contrast between the two woods, the slightly thicker rim works very well.

Thanks again for all of the nice words here everyone. I considered making new finials but then they wouldnt have matched the original I did a month or so ago...the middle piece, so I figured for these 3 they would work ok. Love working with the walnut and maple.
