I have some vinyl flooring where about one foot of a seam has come up from the subfloor.

Do I really need to buy an entire gallon of vinyl flooring adhesive to fix this?

Or is there another adhesive that would likely work just as well?

And what about seam sealer, is that available in smaller quantities?

I haven't look at stores yet, just checked HD's site, and the adhesive comes in one gallon pails. So I thought I'd ask what to look for here for a small patch job.

Thanks for any tips.

You can buy it in quart size.

Phil... My Home Depot has it in quarts, and I think my Ace Hardware does, too. Give your locals a call.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look.

The thought of using 2-3 tablespoons of a gallon-sized container and then shelving the rest doesn't appeal to me.

Not so bad on a quart.

Maybe I'll find something I can do with the extra.

Try Craigslist. Some old thrifty dude who cruises the postings will offer up a half-cup if that's all you need.

You could tail a flooring guy or dumpster dive at a flooring supply store for empty container. The dregs may be enough for your repair. :D
