I didn't know either and went to Google to search for an answer. I'm still not certain, but my guess would be "flat head brass" screws. Google found this acronym in old books and assembly manuals from the 1930s and 40s.

I'm wondering if any flat-head wood screw would work for your slides.

I'm wondering if you should use Brass on table slides or if Counter-sunk Phillips head Zinc is ok ?

No matter what screws you need, I wouldn't buy them at HD.
I've never had a pack where they didn't twist the head off.

Could be flat head brass but I think it means "flat head bright". "Bright", meaning cadmium plated or silver-looking as compared to brass or bronze.

Just my $.02.
