yea, the stronger the jaws, the better. I'm not familiar with the woodcut system, but if you can get an extension for your live center, it helps to pull the center up while coring to make sure the piece doesn't decide to launch.
I was able to find an extension about 6" long from online auction...but you can get from most the turning suppliers, i.e Craft Supplies, Woodcraft, Penn State, etc I'm fairly certain. Just added a StrongHold to my 1642... daddy like :)

Either would probably work as the Woodcut does not core a very large bowl.
