This is just a big dovetail used to attach an arm to a leg of an adirondack chair:

A couple pieces of scrap were clamped to the back to position the arms after the tails were cut. My wife traced the tails to the arm while I was holding them.
The leg is 4" wide. I forgot to put something there for scale.
This is the chair:

It is unfinished in this image. Another piece will be added in the center of the back. There are also narrow slats to be installed in the seat area. My plan is to paint what is now assembled one color. All the other pieces will be painted a different color before they are installed.
It is comfortable, almost too comfortable.
