Artsign JSM-40

I just got my Artsign JSM-40 setup, got the mirrors aligned, and distance from test wood to laser set properly.

I tried just doing a simple text test in Mode 1, scan 8, cut 2, using Newly Draw and got the following in attachment.

As you can see the laser does not appear to be going returning properly to the left.

Any ideas anyone?

If it is new and just set up, I'd be looking for some packing material left inside
the machine somewhere.. perhaps a piece of tape on a rail? On a bearing?
A piece of foam acting like a brake? Just a guess..

Yes!

It was missing a screw on the belt tensioner. So it only had one screw holding it in, and the belt seemed loose. I found a compatible screw and put it back together with 2 screws, put more tension on the belt, and now it is working!

Chuck, thanks for replying. It looks like my machine came with a missing belt tensioner screw...lol

I am amazed it was holding! Wow....
