I told you I had a lot of maple. Haven't got to the 20" plus ones yet. This is a pretty plane piece. Natural color with 3 coats of Forby's Tung Oil. Wipe it on, wait a couple minutes and wipe it off. Beaded again with a 3/8" spindle gouge. No foot, more for stability than anything. The body and bottom measure 5/16" thick. The walls taper to relatively flat bottom.

I like it! Just enough variation in the wood to make it interesting - especially the curl! Will make a great centerpiece or popcorn bowl!

Now that'll hold some salad!! And the salad would taste better in that bowl!

Another "clean" turn, Bob! I really like what you do with the beaded rim.

Finally, a popcorn bowl big enough for DD! Looks good to me

Good looking bowl, Bob. The bead on the rim adds a nice detail.

Nice little salad bowl there Bob...assuming you LIKE ALOT of salad!! Very nice looking bowl, whatever you do with it. I like rim treatment. Adds some flair without taking away from clean lines of interior. Like Steve said, just enough variation there to make it interesting to hold and look at.
Well done!
