Here is a Special Order Walnut Bowl I just completed. It has NO finish on it what-so-ever. This customer has bought other stuff from me and he likes to finish his own with many, many coats of Tung Oil. It had a moisture content of over 35% when I turned it, so I kiln dried it for three weeks. It warped during drying, so I ended up losing about 1/2" in hight and around one inche in diameter turning it round. Ended up with a 8" dismeter 2 3/4" high bowl.

Bill, with your lighting, you are ending up with some odd exposures on these pics. Makes the walnut bowl look anything but walnut.

Notwithstanding the color abberation, this is a very nice bowl. Those dimensions produce a very proportionate form. Well done!

I agree with John, the bowl looks great but with walnut it would bring out the color better with a white background.

Sure has a lot of shine with no finish! A testament to your sanding skills...of which i am in dire need of! I think you did a great job of orientating the grain too!
