I resently cut up the butt of a maple log to make some bowl blanks and look what I found I have a few bowl blanks and a bunch of misc. sized turning blanks for vase and hollow forms about 16 pieces of sizes ranging 6 inches sq all the way to 9 in sq.the pic is of one of the bowl blanks this one is 7 inches round 3 in deep......

Look out folks!!! Rob has owned his new Delta 46-460 for 2-3 weeks, and he is already talking vases, HFs, etc., and hoarding wood like you wouldn't believe!!:D;) The vortex has sucked him all the way to the bottom!!!

Great wood, Rob! Can't wait to see you get started on some stuff.

here is a few of the blanks i have started to hoard hahaha John is right.I have alot on my plate right now so hoarding wood is about all I have been able to do but in time its like John says look out....lol

Robert, if this is a "tiny gloat", what does a full size one look like? :D

Robert, it looks like you might have yourself some curly maple. I recently harvested a cut tree from an old farmer's yard in my town and produced approximately 200 blanks ranging from 14" dia down to 6". It's a joy to turn.
