Burls rule!!!! You can never have too many burls in your wood inventory...............

That is hideous! You should cut it down and hide it in your shop(or mine) to protect others from it.

As long as you brought it up, are there any good sources for burls? Or, do I have to go hiking through the woods?

Lots of sources, Ed... Any particular type of burl you're looking for?

I've just been drouling over some of the turnings I've seen here and I would like to try something. I'm new to it but want to learn. Type of wood isn't as important to me as the character of the finished product. So, with that said, I don't know enought to specify a particular wood. Something light.
