Did a search but not much info. I have a 6 inch disc I want to put on my lathe and want to put velcro on the wood. Any suggestions on what type of glue to use?

Contact cement. The 3M stuff in the spray can (77) works great.

Much of the hook and loop stuff that I've seen already has adhesive on it... If that's not the case, you want something that's not very heat sensitive. Sounds like DD has had good luck with the spray stuff.

I have been successful with this by simply providing a good polyurethane finish for the sticky back Velcro to bond to. Usually 2 or 3 coats, sanded between , for smoothness is all it takes. Give it a try, think you will be happy with the results.

The sticky back hook and loop stuff I have used does not stick very well to wood. But a coat of contact on the wood takes care of it. If the velcro does not have an adhesive backing, contact all the way. Sealing the wood as Clint mentioned is a great idea.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
