a load of walnut, it's even better when someone else cuts it and brings it to you!

Roughing time................

I just checked my driveway... No walnut! Seems like the walnut fairy has passed me over. I did get a couple of interesting chunks of Bradford pear yesterday... More on that another day.

Congrats on the walnut!

I'm green with envy! A big walnut score is at the top of my wish list this summer. Hope you have fun with that.

Rich, your pic is not viewable for me this morning. Was it a link to another hosted site and you removed it?

Played hooky from work this afternoon and slabbed up and sealed the above walnut. http://photos.imageevent.com/richinva/turning/misc/websize/2011-05-06_15-37-38_94.jpg It yielded 42 blanks.

I was working on the last stick when my buddy pulled up with a load of elm..................:) http://photos.imageevent.com/richinva/turning/misc/websize/2011-05-06_15-12-19_87.jpgtime to whet up the saw a bit, I think, quite a bit tougher than walnut............ http://photos.imageevent.com/richinva/turning/misc/websize/2011-05-06_15-12-32_97.jpg
What a wonderful day to be outside!! Absolutely perfect here today. Had a red-eyed vireo keeping me company (when the saw wasn't running), nice breeze, perfect temps., life is sweet, isn't it?

Richard, Nice pile of turning wood, I spent the day out side also today but I was working on my small trailer so I can haul it to Ada OK next Thurday night for a hog hunt, It will be my first and I am excited to give it a whirl! I got sunburn on my bald head and my nose for the first time this year, but it is supposed to rain again tomorrow and the next 3 days, so short live sunny days!

Have fun roughing out bowls,

Jeff
