I am looking for a pair of 24" band saw tires. Specifically for a Centauro 600CO (Minimax 24"). Anybody, have a trusted, knowledgeable source for band saw tires?

Try Suffolk Machine, they can get you the proper tires for almost any bandsaw.

I put urethane tires on my 18" Jet bandsaw and have very pleased with them.
Here are some on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/24-Urethane-Band-Saw-Tires-2-NIB-DoAll-Grob-Delta-/280522167290

I'm pretty sure that you're going to have to get them from SCM/ MiniMax. The tire has a rib on the inside that fits into a slot in the wheel. I've never seen any aftermarket tires that would work but someone may possibly be making one that would. None of the urethane tires that are made for lipped wheels would stay on the un-lipped wheel.

"Unless" someone makes a "direct replacement" tire that is specifically designed to fit the MiniMax wheels, (which use a rib on the bottom of the tire that fits in a groove in the wheel AND is a flat tire, I would not go back with anything other than an OEM, (Centauro/MiniMax) tire. On a Bandsaw of that quality, tires are NOT the place to Cheap Out, IMHO, if you want to maintain the quality of performance that saw is designed to give. (Note; I have a MM 20 also).

Another thing to consider is that the MiniMax is also not a true 24" machine. It actually has a 600mm wheel size, which is very close to 24" especially for the marketing folks in the USA - but it's not exactly 24" which could also affect the fit of a tire if it were sized for a 24" wheel.

I bought tires for the exact same saw from .... Thinking..

They are orange Urethane .. Used Hair spray to bond them..

Sulpher Grove tool..

They make them for one of the big retailers but will sell you 24" direct..

Having said that .. I would probably order the rubber ones from Partspronto.. which is the SCM parts site.. Until I learned about the hairspray.. they where a hassle.. No problem now..

Did you spray the hairspray on the tire, or onto the wheel?
