This is a photo of "down under" artist Alby Hall and his latest creation. This image really captures a special moment. I hope this is OK to do... I "slurped" it from the World of Woodturners (WoW) site. I am posting it here for the benefit of anyone who is not a member of WoW. It's just a beautiful image.

Alby is a creative genius in so many respects, and he has access to all of that New Zealand wood - particularly the ancient Kauri that he works with everyday at the Ancient Kauri Kingdom. Besides that - he is a super nice fellow!

I recalled seeing this and some other pics of putting the pieces together. Really creative and beautiful work.

With the type of time consuming work he does, he probably doesn't have time. But it would be work a try. Needless to say we could all learn a ton from him.

I see he has moved from sea animals to land-based. I confess that this is something I definitely want to try. Of course, I want to be as creative as he is from the gitgo. So cool.

That's one of the coolest pieces I've ever seen... I'd love to sit and watch him work sometime.

That is very cool. Would love to have a few tidbits of info on something like that.

Alby posted a lot of "progress" shots on WoW.
