I'm making some turned miniture birdhouses and some other items and was needing a tap(threader) for wood to make the jig with to fit my lathe. I'm looking for the 1"x8tpi and the 1 1/4"x 8tpi sizes. Where can I find these at? I know I can buy the adapter already made but I would like to make my own if possible. I made one over the weekend out of wood but I really need a threader. Thanks

Beall-1-x-8-TPI-Spindle-Tap.aspx

Google this and you will find the (Big wood turning) store that has this and the 1 1/4 x 8 tpi.

Donny, I picked one up (1 x8) locally at an industrial "parts" store. Check your yellow pages or look around. If you get stuck I can give you a # here. Lemme know.

I think this will do the trick. Direct from the manufacturer. Decent price too!
