I am making a test chair for a set of 4 chairs I want to build, and having a difficult time with the crest rail which fits tightly against the legs.
I am working towards something similar to this:

I have the back legs angled inwards at 9 degrees, and I need the crest rail to angle back (forward by the bottom) to align the face of the crest rail with the chair legs for a flush fit, this slight angling is of course what creates the challenge, given that it now becomes a compound angle which is difficult at best to measure then cut.
Any tricks or tips for aligning these pieces so I can make the cuts at the proper angles? I can get close, but still have small (1/16") gaps at some of the connecting faces.
Any pictures of jigs which would simplify this cut?
