I'm looking for a little design help in dimensioning the width of the rails and stiles for a vanity. It's 48 inches wide with two rows of 3 drawers on each side of a middle door. The drawer fronts are 13 1/2" wide and 6 1/4" tall. The door is 16 3/8" wide and 21 1/2" tall. They will have beadboard panels.
My question is what would be a good width for the rails and stiles? My concern is the relatively small dimensions of the drawers in relation to the door. Would something like 1" to 1 1/2" wide on the drawers look too small on the door? Can/should they be different? If so, what would be good widths?
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
