The case is oak and the splines are purple heart. The top is a veneer on top of a composite (2'X4')that I purchased from the Woodcraft catalog back in 1995. Sorry but I forgot the name of the veneer.

Very nice job on the box, Jerry. Great attention to the detail makes it especially nice. I'm sure she'll love it!:) :cool:
