Chisel Mania on ebay

Wow - the last seven days have brought about a mania for Stanley Everlasting Chisels on ebay. I have seen items - far from pristine in condition - go for between $75-$125 and most certainly in the $40-60 range for others. There seems to be a major run on the market. I'll go back to drooling over the prices of bedrock planes instead!

That's nothing, Rich. There was a period a couple of months ago that saw several Everlastings (in very nice condition) go for well over $200, and at least one that I can remember for over $300. There are a couple of fellas out there who seem to be big time into collecting these tools and, obviously, are willing to pay premium prices.

Rich, I think johncusick is trying to corner the market. He bought the last two everlasts I bid on for $182 and $202. I'd like to round a up a few more for the right price, but that ain't it!
