I have two boards of walnut 7' long by 20" wide that i need to remove about 1/16-3/32 from. They are planed flat, but still have some minor mill marks that I need to work down to.

I have a performax 16-32, but think this may be too big of a job for that sander. Are there any good places other than Houston Hardwoods or Clark's Hardwoods that rent time on a wide planer/belt sander? Clarks and Houston Hardwoods charge $30-$60 setup plus ~$1-$2 per minute for use of the tool, which will run me about 100$ overall I suspect, which to me seems pretty steep (Maybe I am just being really frugal?)

Any other yards/mills around that have these machines? I have heard to check with door companies who make wood doors and they typically have larger capacity machines.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked with Woodcraft? Don't know if they have a machine that big but it's worth a call.
