I recently ordered a 1/2" shank router bit from Amazon and I got a 1/4" bit. The manufacturer (CMT) label was correct, but another barcode label wasn't. I ordered another different bit and called Timberline tools to return the erroneous one.

As I spoke to the Timberline rep, I realized that, although they filled the second order via Amazon, the first one was filled direct by Amazon ,who must have affixed the incorrect label. The Timberline rep then said: "That's okay, we'll give you a $10 credit anyway." And they didn't get anything wrong!

That's customer service in my book. I also found out that the same company runs Router bit World. I have no connection to either, but I am more than satisfied.
