I notice today that Sears sells a ratchet driver with a set of sockets that are supposed to fit a variety of fasteners including big torx like fasteners, "rounded" hex nuts, ordinary hex nuts and many more. Anyone tried this set?

Are these the sockets which look like they have a bunch of needles inside them? If so, they're OK in a pinch. But they are no replacement for the real deal.

No, they don't look like they have needles or pins in them. (I've seen that kind.) They look like they have extra channels cut into the faces of the inside of the socket.
