Old manual Blum minipress question

Anybody ever use an old blum minipress, the manual one? I picked one up, it is in the down position all the time, you have to lift the handle up and then slide the door under the drill and then push the handle back down to drill the holes.

I think I am missing some springs or something to hold it up so you don't have to lift the handle before you put a door under the drill.
