Spring brings on the fun. In my old living area of San Francisco, they do some crazy things.

For those who do not want to keep the Big Wheel at the end of the race, the SFFD will accept unbroken donations for needy kids.

Not trying to hijack your thread, Jim, just a comparison of fun events from different areas. Savannah has some fun events and crazy events. One I'm participating in this year is Tybee Flotilla - Will Float for Kids. They don't have a website but they are on Facebook. Basically we all hit the water on floats, floating coolers in tow, and group float from point A on Tybee Island to point B at the Crab Shack, with a break on Criminal Island while we wait for the tide to change. It's a four hour event and this year's charity is Ronald McDonald House.

No thoughts on taking over the thread.

After posting it I thought it would have been better to call it spring fun or something to encourage people to let us in on the events in their areas for kicks & giggles.

SF also has a flotilla on the bay. I do not recall if they still use bath tubs or if they were required to have boats that were easier to get out of the bay if they went down.

Probably some kind of floating event just about anywhere they have water.

Same with Chinese New Year celebrations in any area where there is a Chinese community.

Same with city marathons and other running events.

Here is a link to photos from one of my fav events, SCAD Sidewalk Art Festival. At the end of the day they hose down the sidewalk and erase all the wonderful art.:(
