Ok, so I was bored LOL! Too much rain here:mad:

Just wiped it down with a coat of Oil, more to follow along with some buffin and a waxin.

I like it Ken.........I hope it does not come apart on you at the pith..............stabilized with CA glue, it might stay together. I like the form..........kinda like the pot at the end of the rainbow!

Plenty of CA was used...fingers crossed. Heavy oiling and will keep oiling until it wont take no more! If it warps....then its character LOL...if it cracks, then its back to more CA and some fine cuttin!

I like this, Ken. It's simple and unpretentious. The form is sweet and the wood is interesting. Only thing is, you might not want to refer to it as a "pith pot" or people might get the wrong idea...

Now thats a really nice Oak Crotch Bowl Pot Thingy. That design fits that piece of wood to a T. I really like the shape and the effect the pith spider wraps around it makes it beautiful.

Thanks Harry...it was a left over after I had cut out a few crotch blanks. I almost tossed it in the firepit yesterday but decided to anchorseal it incase I wanted to cut a blank out for a turkey pot. Todays hard rains and storms left me inside and I figured I didnt have much to loose.

David, someone will try that and it will be the biggest thing since dead chickens!

I think this is one of your nicest forms (IMHO) and the wood is very nice as well. I am also concerned of the pith cracking and the name pith eliciting the wrong responses.

Looks great to me! Lots of jokes come to mind about 'having a pot to pith in', etc, but I'll spare everybody.

Very nice. How did you like the Easy Wood Tool?

Short learning curve, works well. Slick as a ribbon when it comes to the transition area if you have one. Thisone is curved from the rim to the bottom, one nice long cut!

Great job Ken! It is my favorite(neatest) of any I remember you posting. Hope it holds together. I have always taken the safeway(pith) out but this one really tempts me to go out on a limb!

That is one cool piece Ken. If it holds the spider pattern at the pith really sets that thing off.

Ok thanks Ken, I am thinking I am going to buy one later this month. I bought a small cutter head last month and wanted to make one, but I keep snapping the tap in half it is so tiny, the drill bit for the tap is a #43 wire size if I remember right, I just cant get it to tap without breaking it, so looks like I am going to be buying one of the models they have.

Ken...I made a form similar to this from walnut about 5 years ago. The family never gets tired of it, and it has a special place in the family room. Plus all that figure!! Very cool piece out of a rainy day! :)

Thanks everyone.

Now...if using the Monster to make a hollowform cuts that easy........well...maybe I will just be ordering one up!
