On average, about how much time do you get to turn in the shop on a weekly basis? I know I like to get every moment out there but it cannot always be that way. I try to do something out there at least 2 evenings a week and all weekend if I can get away with it. I try to get the "Honey do" items done through the week.

I probably get 6 or 8 hours a week mostly on weekends. During the week is pretty tough, and I generally don't get to do much during the week.

I have been busy for the last several months working on rental remodeling, so I haven't got to spend hardly any time in the shop. BUT we wrapped up our remodels on Friday and I spent a ton of time at the lathe this weekend! I usually get 4-6 hours on the weekend and maybe a few hours during a couple days during the week...maybe.

Maybe an hour each night during the week on average and 3-4 hours on the weekends. This varies by the season and with winter being 10 months long here in Minnesota, I get extra shop time. 4-6 inches of the white stuff predicted for tomorrow night!

I'm lucky to get 2-3 hours a week with rarely more than an hour at any given time. I really wish I could find more time.

1-3 hours a day while I mend. During a regular week...5-8 hrs a week.

During a normal day I try to spend 1-2 hours in my shop, so 7-14 hours a week, and I do a lot of experimenting with different styles, and have a lot of flops....but thats half the fun, and because of some physical limitations I am much slower then most folks when it comes to turning and shop work in general, but I am doing it and that is enough for me.

Some weeks none and other weeks a lot. I went a couple of month's not turning anything but I was working on organizing my shop when I got a chance, and then a couple of weeks ago I probably put in 40+ hours in the shop plus working about 6 hours a day at my regular job. I did not get much sleep that week. Being self employed means that every day is a work day so I get shop time when I can.

I spend about 4-5 hours a night during the week and about 8-12 hours a day on the weekends unless something comes up that's important enough to pull me away from the shop.

Mostly weekends for me- 1/2 day or more when the weather is bad, much less now with spring yardwork and a rapidly growing honeydo list...

I'm usually too tired in the evening to do much if any unless its finishing. Weekends I spend 4 - 8 hrs except during the summer. The college I work at goes on 4-10 hr days during the summer and I get one full day (8hrs) in the shop plus 4-6hrs on the other two - say 12 - 14 hrs total.

In my shop, I really try to get 1-2 hours during the week, and 5-6 hours on the weekend .... but recently most of that time has been spent with other endeavors ... I have some flatwork that needs to be done by months end for some of my upcoming craft shows .... and I should start working on a piece of outdoor furniture for a co-worker. (not a fan of furniture, but could use the extra $$$ )

I work 60-70 hours a week, so I really have to push myself to get time in at the lathe. I usually dedicate 1 hour per workday (from 7pm-8pm) to do something related to turning. The weekends? All available time goes to shop time. (average 15 hours total) So I guess...about 20 hours a week.

This time of year about 20-25 hours a week. During fishing time a bit less. During deer season even less.

I spend about 4-5 hours a night during the week and about 8-12 hours a day on the weekends unless something comes up that's important enough to pull me away from the shop.

This is about right for me also, except the things important enough to pull me away from the shop are - kids, telephone, work, yard care, home repair, breakfast, lunch, dinner, feeding the dogs, anything the wife wants, anything the wife forgot to tell me to do the first time, running errands, gardening, etc., etc. Seems to cut shop time to about 4 hours a week.

Its great to be retired. Everyday is a weekend.:) Some days it might be 12 hours or more. After a couple of those days I lack the ambition to do much out there though. Depends on how much time I spend on SMC too.
