Been distracted with some flat work projects for several weeks, but this weekend, I decided to re-turn a cherry rough I'd put aside to dry last August. Here's the result. Good to get my feet wet again. Criticism is always welcome.

You guys are all making great stuff lately! I've been lurking, but just had nothing much to share.

Classic "Hughto"...............always a great looking bowl. Sean, your bowls have some of the nicest form and finish of any I've seen...........and that is on a consistent basis.....................you do first class work!

+ 1 on Roger's comments...it's is Classic Hughto. Very well executed, very clean, well proportioned and great rim treatment and finish. Super composition on first shot, too!
Well done again Sean!

Really nice shape and use of the grain. Beading is excellent. That cherry is only going to look even better with age. Glad you are back at the lathe and posting here.

Sean, you always do such nice work on your bowls - great form, excellent finish, and the cherry you use is really tight grained wood. Great work!

I guess that answers my question as to whether cherry makes nice bowls! Very nice work.

Great looking bowl Sean! Looks almost like a bottomless one.

You guys are all so great! Thanks for the kind comments.

Baxter, it has a normal bottom on the outside - probably about 3" diameter, bu the inside is bottomless to the extent there is no flat, but instead one continuous internal curve.

Thanks again!

Yea, Yea, Yea, the bowl is flat out gorgeous and the wood is to die for. The real question is what were you singing when you turned this one. I want to learn the tune.

Faust, you're a funny man! ;-)

I'm always singin. For this particular bowl, I think it was a new group I like called Middle Brother. They do a great cover of the Replacements' song "Portland" among others.

Sure is a pretty bowl Sean! I like the bead detail - looks like it would be real nice to have when picking up the bowl! As pretty as this is now - it's gonna be a beaut in a couple of years!

Welcome back to the turning side!

Lovely bowl Sean. I very much like the rim detail work and the wood is superb. Excellent execution, and the photography is not bad also.
