At 86, mom has not embraced current technology when it comes to pictures she likes to look through now and again. I made her a couple simple lift lid boxes of cherry and walnut with ebony pegs. Clear shellac finish.

With a G&G flavor.... Nice job Glenn.

Glenn that is an outstanding box. I like the G&G inspiration, the walnut finishes it out nicely. Very nice.

Great looking boxes. I like the "proud" box joints and the way the lid separates right at the box joint. Nice wood choices and finish, too. Makes me want to get back to box making.

Glenn, those boxes are beautiful. I also like the G&G flair with the large box joints and the Ebony pegs. I can also identify with your mother as I would rather look at hard-copy photographs than a picture on a screen...especially older photos. That is a wonderful gesture and gift to your mother. Good on ya.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I do enjoy G&G and enjoy the ebony details but, I am not used to making batches of 3/16" square pegs; kinda dinky. Next project will need bigger pegs if I have anything to say about it :p

Geez Glenn, you've got quite a few leftovers, those look way too nice to not use.

Would you like my address??

"Cherry and Walnut".....That's no plain cherry or walnut - great figure - Awesome job! Love those boxes.
