Not sure I'd be interested in this but find it pretty interesting and thought I'd share... I'm guessing it's pretty old.

Well now...you don't see something like that very often. Don't think I've ever seen a right angle drive train on a DP.

They are called Camel back drill presses, all the gearing on that one is a power feed system. They are metal working drill presses. I have 4 of them, a large one, one about that size and 2 smaller ones that are bench models. They were originally line shaft driven, but most have had some kind of motor mount for a V belt drive. Often the new drive motor is on the back side of the floor pedestal where the other change pulley was located, but mostly they have had an old 3 or 4 speed car or truck transmission used for different speeds as its much easier and quicker to change speeds with gears.

Harry, if I ever get out to your neck of the woods I am going to have to look you up. I have a couple of old Walker Turners, but you got me beat hands down. Cool stuff you have there......
