looking at getting a sliding table.

1) i have heards lots of happy people that own a excalibur really but is it really worth double the cost of the delta? if so why?

i know somebody who might sell his excalibur in that it might push him over the edge to go after getting a new saw that he wants.

2) i think i might be able to get it off him for the cost of a new delta. what do you think?

3) has the excalibur improved in design? (his is a few years old)

thanks craig

I have no experience with either of those sliders but you might want to take a look at Jets' slider. I have one on my saw and have been pretty happy with it. It's my understanding that it can be fitted to other brands of saws.

I have heard that the Excalibur has painted wear parts while the Exaktor has stainless wear parts. You might want to check this out.

If you're looking for a slider then consider a sliding table saw or a european combination machine (slider, shaper, jointer, planer). The aftermarket addons are highly compromised.
