My 1st Bowl

My very first bowl. I turned this about a month ago. Maple, approx "6x"3, sanded to 600, has about 8 coats of WOP on at this point but is still curing so has not been buffed yet.
I know I have some heavy shadow in the pictures...I figured out the problem and corrected it in the next bowls photos.

Thats a nice first piece. My first was dogwood and it look like I did it with a hatchet. But like John said this ones special, I still have the hatchet bowl.

Just like Harry says, you will want to hold onto this piece for future reference. I still have my first that I tag "Stubby Chalice". It looked more or less like a small drinking cup. Yours BTW would put mine to shame.

Tim - for a first bowl - you did good! Nice finish and no evidence of tearout! Form... well that comes with lots of practice! Make sure you sign and date it as there is only one first bowl!
