I have been turning some vases lately from laminated walnut and maple. So far they are just for dry flowers, etc. I would like to make some with a glass tube insert in them so they could actually be used for live buds or flowers. My wife grows roses so there is a need for them. Anyway I would like some tubes, glass or plastic that are about 1.5 inches in diameter and 5 or 6 inches long. I have searched for a while but for a variety of reasons have not found what I want, either a minimum order of a 1000, to tall, too small of diameter etc. I cant believe I am the only one to ever want something like this. Anyone got any ideas on where to find something like this? THanks in advance Jared

I haven't run across that big of a diameter. The ones I have (and have seen) are ~ 1". There may be some spectialty mfg that's not in the mainstrem of lathe accessories and project parts. Good luck.

I remember seeing some at woodcraft - not sure if they were 1 1/2 or not but did see a box of them on the shelf.

I found some larger test tubes on EBAY .. . roughly 1" diam x 6" long. there are many variations, but you could do a google search for test tubes / science supplies.
btw, they were dirt cheap ... like $1 each shipped
