That I did back in 2009 when I found a guy with a whole garage full of Caragana logs that had been drying for eight years!

Finished with 1 coat of BLO and 2 coats of Minwax Satin WOP.
The one on the left measures 3-1/4" Tall x 1-7/8" OD x 1-13/16" ID
The one on the right measures 3" Tall x 1-9/16" OD x 1-1/2" ID

Les, I really like these!! Never heard of Caragana? Very nice contrast with the sapwood and heartwood, though, and nice grain structure.

That is some beautiful wood Les! looks like it was a little on the dry side. How was it to turn?

You have been holding out on us Les. With all the great pens you have been making, don't see how you ever had time for anything else. I really like the wood on those. ;)

Great little boxes, Les. I especially like the lines of the box on the left in the second photo.

Thanks Jim,

Caragana is a soft wood and turns great for me.
