View Full Version : Please measure the I.D. of your DC ring, if you have a chance

Next time you have the bottom bag off your DC ring, would you mind taking a measurement of the I.D.? Actually, take a few and average them together. Then forward that # to me, along with the make and model of your DC.

I'm kinda hoping I can make between four and six "standard" sizes that would fit most dust collector models.

These would be made from laser-cut steel and have tabs for easy attachment.

Can we get freebies if we provide measurements? :D

There are going to be some freebies for testing purposes.

I could definitely use one, then :) I haven't gotten around to cutting one yet, but the DC is working double time for both the laser and the other equipment (bandsaw, wood and metal lathe, drill press, and soon the CNC).

I don't remove or empty the bottom bag of my DC since I added a Thein baffle - #:^)

I have a HF item # 45378 2hp 30 micron model. 18 3/4".
There are probably a million of them in use, and I would be very happy to test a baffle for you.
Bought it in 2007 before they came out with the 5 micron item #97869, which I believe may be the same size.

I have the Harbor Freight #97869 and it is 18 3/4" as well. I would be happy to test a baffle as well.

OK, I am not sure I am getting the measurement you want (I.D. of where the bag sits at the bottom of the lip), but....

Delta 50-850 - 19 1/4"
Delta 50-765 - 23 3/8"

If this thread pops up again while I'm home, I'll verify it's truly 19" and not the 18 3/4" everyone else seems ot be getting...

Okay, I remeasured... 18 3/4", not the original 19" I sloppily checked (I vaguely remembered hooking the tape to the outside of the ring, not the inside, hence the remeasurement after seeing others come up 1/4" shorter)

That is reassuring. I didn't think there would be that much of a variance. Thank you!
