Is there a maximum length the filter can be located from the cyclone? I was thinking of moving mine about 20' from the unit.
Thanks

Wrong forum for this thread, but yes, adding pipe will affect suction regardless of whether it's before or after the blower.

Less after than before but +1 on Jon's post.

as long as you have just straight pipe it should not have much impact on your DC performance. I think the reason why most have the filters next to the cyclone/motor/impeller is the ease of noise abatement. Just one area of stuff that needs to be enclosed - my 5 HP clearvue is in an adjacent room and so well muffled that I have learned to start the DC first to make sure it is running as I cannot hear it over the noise of most tools it services.

you will discover that the air noise from the filters is almost as bad as that from the impeller so take that into consideration as to where you choose to locate it
