This was 'found wood', I think it's maple and it is curly. Nice little bark inclusion around the rim. About 5 1/2" across, 3 1/2" tall. Just under 3/8" wall thickness. Thanks to tips from several creekers, I think it turned out pretty good. 3 coats of watco, 2 of WOP, and buffed.

This is bowl #6 for me.

Need to learn something about pictures.

Comments and critiques welcome. Thanks for looking.

Nice little bowl Dale! Sure has some big growth rings for Maple but you do live down south!

Photographing your turnings is another vortex and equally as time consuming if you get bit by that bug! Check out Neal's tutorial (http://www.nealaddy.org/node/16) - should help answer some questions and give you a good start.

Nice little bowl Dale. Taking pictures of your work is a skill that takes time to learn too. Unless you cropped them a lot, you may have been a little too close for your camera to focus.

Dale, a cute little bowl! Getting good pics is tricky. Steve and Baxter have given some good comments - the pics are cropped too tight, and it does appear you tried to take them too close, causing the focus to be out.
