Sweet gum HF

Turned this at the woodworking show Friday, it is 7" tall x 7.5" diameter. The inside is not as good as I would like but it is not too bad. Lots of worm holes and some nice spalting. One coat of tung oil now, not sure what the final finish will be.

Great form. The lines in the wood make it hard to see the actual grain pattern, and I am used to seeing more of a marbling effect in the Sweet Gum I have turned. Hope you have more of that source for additional work. It definitely is an eye catcher whatever final finish you go with (my choice is more oil).
