This "NEED" cost twice as much as the little lathe that got me into this mess .. :D
I had to cut up that giant maple gloat a bit in order to get it into my neighbors woodmizer... not the first time I have used a chainsaw, but the first time I have used it for this purpose.
Its an 18" bar and wasnt big enough to get through the first cut. I cut out a couple of 8" bowl blanks and a 9" blank because its killing me to NOT have something spinning from this tree!

Looks like quite the chainsaw! Should last you for a long time - so it is money well spent!
Sure is some pretty wood! Looking forward to seeing what you turn out of it!

I've been trying to kill my piece of crap $25 yard sale Craftsman 16" for I don't know how long, and it just won't die!! I "NEED" one of those. Heck of a nice saw Lee, nice gloat. Yes, I'm damn jealous :D!

Lee, now you need to buy a lathe that cost 5 times as much as the Stihl.

here's a start .... not liking the form when I see the pictures, but we'll see what I can do after it dries!

PS ... I got a Vari-Grind Original on Saturday, ya know it makes a HUGE difference when you get the right grind on a bowl gouge .. huge, I tell you
