Hi all
I've made a couple of these benches in mahogany but decided to make this one out of california walnut I also used abalone, ebony, leather, sterling silver and waxed linen thread.
I started this project after getting a good deal on a slab at a local supplier. Turned out it wasn't as dry as they said so I cut all the parts oversized and let them sit for a couple of years.
Thanks for looking

Is the design yours with a G&G influence or did G&G do one like it? I like the bench. It's not as cluttered as some G&G designs.

I do like G&G designs.

Real nice work on the bench Tom. By the looks of the walnut the long wait for it to dry was worth it.

Really great looking. I agree with Lowell that G&G is often too cluttered for my taste but you have hit a real happy medium.

Nice work. Makes me think of hand-made fly rods, with that waxed linen wrap. Love the abalone.
