Maple bowl 7 1/2" by 4 1/4" CA glued cracks. Danish oil and wax finish. Camera not the best.

I really like the bowl's shape and grain. Thank goodness for CA glue. Before I started turning, I never knew how useful CA glue could be.

I am sure that she will love it.

Cheers,
David

Calabash is my favorite shape and yours is a beauty. If your wife doesn't like it..............oh, never mind, she will. Happy Birthday Mrs. Ferguson. I hope the bowl is filled with your favorite chocolates.

Great curling in that piece. One question, What part of the tree would you most likely find that kind of curl? I'm thinking Crotch.

Now you can boost about two beauties in the house. One is your wife and the other is this gorgeous bowl. Great wood and super shape.

This piece of wood appears to have been just above a crotch, made a bowl with part of the crotch and open bark inclusion from the same short chunk of wood.
