AKA Aguacate that was in the box of blanks from Scott (SDB777).
Thanks Scott, this Aguacate is great timber to turn and finish!
Dressed up in a Titanium Gold/Platinum Elegant Beauty.
Sanded to 400x, burnished with the wood shavings, buffed with Ultrafine Steel Wool and applied 6 coats of MINWAX Clear Gloss Polyurethane.

A very fine looking pen, Les, as usual.

Very fine work with this pen. What grade is 'ultrafine' steel wool. I use the commonly available 4-0 but have not found anything finer at my local hardware. Is it the same?
I have a chunk of Aquacate I scavenged from my daughters Florida place after a hurricane several years ago (carry on aboard the jet back to Washington State). I haven't done anything with is as it looked rather dull and boring but your work doesn't fit that descritption at all. Guess I will have to drag it out and give it a spin to see just what's inside.
Again, fine job with the pen.

Thanks David,

The Ulrafine grade is equivalent to #000/0000 and is a bit finer than the #0000.
I get it at Lee Valley.
