This nite stand was transformed from old style to modern. It is for a 13 year old girl's room.
The new 'word' around town is "re-purposing". Although this is not quite a re-purposed item, it comes close. Several decorators I know are selecting furniture from Good Will and other inexpensive sources and having them restyled. I figure anthing that will save furniture from ending up in a land fill is a good thing.

The original base and top were removed and a new base and top was made.
Paint is Pre-Catalyzed lacquer over Vinyl sealer.

Nice repurpose, Tony, and thanks for keeping it out of the landfill.

Thanks for the compliments.
I can not take credit for the design or the 'repurposing'. That is all on the decorator.
The client paid $39 for the nite stand + $550 to me, so she still got a great deal. She ends up with a custom piece that exactly matches the bases and top edgings of other furniture in that room in addition to matching the exact color scheme in that room.
She wins, the decorator wins, I win and the environment wins.
Also, Jim wins - the landfill is in Seabrook, :)
