As I was splitting this growth off the trunk of a maple tree, it split in layers. Looks more like the ledges of a rock formation than wood. The piece looked like it needed a small round interior so it became a male wallet bowl. There were some punky spots randomly spaced through out the piece that received some CA; didn't have much rhyme or reason where they appeared. Left the exterior as it was, quite rustic. The piece is about 7 x 14. WOP finish.

Now that's a funky piece of wood! Pretty cool idea to turn a portion and leave the remainder 'au natural'.

Nicely done...a true tough-guy wallet bowl. I am thinking now that mine has too uniform a shape for a guy's wallet bowl.
Thanks for posting that one, a great save!!

Mini-poll------So...as folks look at this...do YOU have a wallet or key/change bowl??
