Wow...the past 5 weeks on the road hasnt been fun:D

I managed to get my logging under control and have everything disc'd up and ready for seed next week, so when the sleet started today I found my way to the lathe and finished off this White Oak bowl that I rough turned a few months back.

I am home this weekend, if anyone needs wood just message me. I have a line on some more walnut but as of today do not have my hands on it, all the usual species are here however.

7 x 2 MAO finish

Very weird and cool looking grain to that, almost as if it was turned from a reed-like plant.

That sure is a nice simple bowl Ken. I really like the fall away rim and the finish...just gonna stare at it for a bit

Thanks.

Steve...I hit the road again and believe i dont have a free weekend again for a month or two. I aint complaining, need the work! Ofcourse, the fuel prices are hurting the bottomline.

I had to throw out 4 or 5 bowls that I anchorsealed and bagged, the only oak rough outs that made it were soaked in DNA and wrapped in newspaper. I reckon I found the method I will use.

Ken, you need to get your priorities straight!!! This bunch depends on input from our fellow creekers, and you have been slackin' pretty badly! Work comes second, although, this very nice oak bowl goes a ways toward your redemption. Love the color and grain.

Haha thanks Baxter and John, things should settle down now that the first big run is out of the way.

In all honesty, ive been handling so much wood, the thought of turning just had me walking right past the lathe. Those that were here, or have followed the thread about my foray into logging my place can see just how much ive been able to do this winter. Still more to do but I had to reach a point where I had tos top and start prepping for seed to go in for my deer food plots.

Just a bit of a change haha!
