I just finished these three boxes for a fund raiser at our church. LOML wanted something to donate so she asked me to make three boxes. They are made from maple, hickory and cherry (left to right) The cherry and maple tops are highly figured. The hickory top has some dramatic striping that book matched nicely.

The wood is all natural color and the finish is Deft Clear wood finish in a semi-gloss.

Here are photos of the tops of the three boxes. The interiors are finished and the bottoms are lined with self adhesive felt. The sides are repurposed crown molding specifically bought to make these boxes. The hinges are brass cylinder hinges so they hold the lid open at 91 degrees.

Great looking boxes, Lee. Hope they bring a lot at the fund raiser.

beautiful, i'm especially fond of the hickory... are they going as a matched set or individually?

Separately as they don't really match other than size. I'd love to see tehm auctioned, but this is a craft sale so it will be a fixed price. I have about $50 in materials in 4 boxes. Labor has been about 4 hours.

Very nice Lee. Did you find the crown molding in the afore mentioned hardwoods or did you do a faux stain?

All the molding is 100% natural color and from the woods as stated.
