Hi All;
Here are a couple of projects that I have been working on and with the help of my Monster Hollowing Rig I have finally finished them. Both are Walnut, the HF is 7 x 2inch and the vase is 7" tall X 5" diameter.
Both are finished with 3 coats of Tung Oil rubbed with steel wool between coats. The bottom of the Vase was turned off/remodelled using the Cole Jaws on the Stronghold Chuck and the tailstock holding till the nub was about 1/16 inch. Then the nub broke and the Cole Jaws held the vase OK.
The bottom of the Hollow Form was remodelled using the Vacuum Chuck at about 13" of Hg. It so slick, especially with the Live Centre adaptor allowing the attachment of the chuck to the tailstock for centering on the vacuum chuck. The HF has a wall thickness between 1/8 and 3/16" and is very light weight.
enjoy, comments and critiques are welcomed.
