Anybody have success using one? I did search here and it appears that shear cutters do a better job.
I need to make 14 doors for my kitchen. They are just plain doors. I would get a horizontal panel cutter but dont have a variable speed router.
Also can they be used to back cut the panel so it is flush to the frame?
Thanks,
Scott

I have one. It is not my bit of choice. You need a really tall fence. Any wobble in teh panel can cause divits in the profile. I have adjusted the bit height and depth and used it as a backcutter.

Don't dismiss the table saw moulder head from www.corobcutters.com A much over looked tool. I have several of the old craftsman single knife heads and you can't beat it. I can grind a custom knife in no time and a pack of three blank knives is $18 so for $6 a custom knife it's a no brainer. BTW...been in the commercial end of WW for 40 years and spent some time doing custom grinding of commercial moulders so I know what the other end of the deal is like and find the Corob to be one of the best kept secrets out there. Supposedly you can run a single knife in the Corob. Will check one out later this week.

How "much saw" does that require?
I'm limited there w/a Ridgid TS3660 contractors saw.

Youcan do a really nice job raising panels on a table saw. Here's how I do it. Raised panels on a TS (http://www.home.earthlink.net/~us71na/raisedpanel.html)
