Split second decision, which one is it?

D - None of the above. Grizzly G0636X is the correct answer.
More weight, 5hp, etc., etc. Specs are basically equal with a reasonable price of $2100, or $1890 with the Woodworkers Journal discount code. Can anyone tell me why this is not correct?

First, that wasn't the question asked. Maybe if I said b-18/18, laguna lt-16hd or lt-18, and the mm16, but still I think many would disagree. Not to knock the Grizzly, it seems like a more than decent saw, I just think that it is a bad comparison. I know that the price is tempting, but I wonder how far ahead one will be in the end?

My choice was the MM 20 but they were back ordered so had to settle for the MM 24

How many threads do we need about the same thing???

MM20 - it was used and 80 miles away and cost about the price of a 17" Steel City and a driftmaster. No thinking involved - just driving with a buddy and a trailer.

Why would you want a split second decision instead of an informed opinion? Why not just draw out of a hat?

I don't do split second decisions with tools.

Top picks: Fedler, Aggy or MM

Lower: Laguna; CS too spotty

Bottom: Grizzly, etc. Too many disappointments with that brand.

Aggazani. Mark Singer had nothing but good things to say about his.
MiniMax. I haven't heard anyone speak ill of their MiniMax.
Laguna. Just don't know enough about one.

I don't think that a split second decision is an uninformed one. I'd assume that most people capable of answering the question have already done a lot of research, as have I, so I was hoping to skip the back and fourth nature of comparative threads. All of the bandsaws mentioned are very nice, so it can feel like splitting hairs. Thank you to everyone who was able to answer the question.

Just my $.02 but I dont see it as uninformed either.

Lots of bandsaw choices out there. Brian narrowed his choices down to 3 and asked the forum for their first thoughts on those tools.

I see that lots of guys went along with it.

OK, Agazanni. But I'm not telling why! Hope that was helpful

Not to cop out... But I cannot imagine you could too far wrong with any of the three bandsaws mentioned... I personally own a MM16 Gen I..

Agazanni B20/20. Have had mine for about nine months. Fantastic saw and great service from Eagle Tool.

I prefer the MM as I also settled for a MM24, but any of the saws you list are excellent. Aspects like table height or overall height, might influence your decision.
I personally like the guidepost and the brake on the MM as well as the extra robustness of the machine. Laguna has the ceramic guides, if thats a plus for you, but they can be added to any saw later. Laguna is also a better looking saw as they put extra effort into the cosmetics. MM is brunt and brawn.

Split second, MM20 even though I wouldn't buy one due to my location. (Dealers in my area don't seem to have any display models, I wouldn't buy a machine sight unseen).

Regards, Rod.

I have another question. I guess it is because Felder is close to my house and I like to deal with a company that is close to me, but what about the Felder FB600. Are they in the running between these 3 machines? I think I need to visit them and have a look but any feedback would be nice. I think I have the shopping bug my wife also has.

My MM20 came from 900 miles away.

Freight costs consumed all but $250 of my savings off buying new.
