I know there are a couple of threads about the symposium already, but I did not want take over those threads. I bounced around all weekend taking snap shots for both myself and the club. I figured I could always go back and relive it a bit when I had more time to actually look more carefully at all of the amazing things on display. Enjoy the (unedited) pictures. Note - the lighting was difficult, but I guess that's why I'm not a professional photographer, huh? Anyway, I hope these pictures inspire us all.

Wow! I almost feel like I was there... Thanks for taking the time to post the photos!

Congrats on the pen... If I'm not mistaken, we are in the presence of greatness!

That was a spectacular show. I all ready can't wait until next year. I had trouble walking away from the Lie Nielsen booth :)

Thank you, David. Although "greatness" may be a stretch. I guess it is sort of a stealth gloat that you (also a pen maker) caught on to. I spend a lot of time on IAP seeing all of the great pen makers out there and still don't feel that I measure up, but I must be doing something right. I actually got recognition for two pens. A lot of the judging is subjective, so I think I just may have found a niche and entered works that appeal to the judges. Ordinarily, I would make a pen from whatever material or blank, and call it mine. This year I used one of John Underhill's Pheasant feather blanks and a metallic stained glass blank made by Ankrom Exotics. Although I successfully executed nice pens, I feel part of the credit should be given to these two artists. They provided a beautiful canvass for me to work off of. Some people told me that a pen blank is a pen blank, but these particular pen blanks are pretty unique.
