OK...Time for the "Dumb Question of the Day"...

I am trying to setup my new tenoning jig for use on my Grizzly G0661 tablesaw. The question that I have (for those that own this jig and have a similar saw) is: Where do have the Guide Bar positioned? ("Guide Bar"= the rod that runs thru the miter slot.)

The unit ships with the bar mounted in the inner position. However, every illustration of the jig in use (in the manual) shows it mounted in the outer. What do you all do???

Thanks. :o

With the miter bar in the slot, the vertical face of the jig should be able to get within 1/8" of the blade. Mine will actually hit the blade, but mine (and probably yours) has a set screw that allows me to set a maximum travel stop so I don't get dumb ;-) Mine is in the left hand groove on the bottom of the jig (viewed while standing in the operators position).

What Glenn said. The miter slot size is standard but not the distance from the slot to the blade. The correct position for you is where it will allow you to get the face of the jig closest to the blade.
